The conference titled “Pompeii and its Territory: the Excavations, the Sanctuary, the city” will be held on Friday, June 13 at the Auditorium of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. A Gente e Territorio conference in collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.

Three facets that will be described by the Director General of the Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, by the Archbishop Prelate of Pompeii, Msgr. Tommaso Caputo, and by the Mayor of Pompeii, Carmine Lo Sapio.

The aim is to highlight the importance of the current management approach of the Archaeological Park, which has taken shape in recent years thanks also to the synergy established with the Ministry of Culture and developed within a new and decidedly broader relational/collaborative framework with the Sanctuary, the Municipality and, more generally, with a Territory with a strong cultural vocation, within a context of urban regeneration.

The following will also speak:

  • Vincenzo Calvanese, Head of the Technical Office of the Archaeological Park;
  • Federico L.I. Federico, former Coordinator, Technical Office of the Archaeological Superintendency of Pompeii;
  • Angelantonio Orlando, Director General of the Mission Unit for the implementation of the NRRP at the Ministry of Culture;
  • Alessandro Bianchi, Director of the School of Sustainable Urban Regeneration “La FeniceUrbana”;
  • Giovanni Capasso, Director General, Program Implementation Support, Ministry of Culture;
  • Giovanni Cafiero, President of the “Aeneas’ Route” Association;
  • Stefano Sorvino, Director General of ARPA Campania;
  • Francesco Alessandria, urban planner, expert at the Presidency of the Council
